Biography - Julia Sarah Abegg Call was born in Payson, Utah, the daughter of Arnold Abegg and Louisa Mathilda Wilhelmine Haag Abegg Done. She was the first child born to this marriage and had one sister and two brothers: Martha, Moroni and Elijah Abegg.

Her father died when she was almost ten years old and Julia became the little mother in the home, as her mother, Louisa, became the breadwinner in the family and was often gone from home in order to provide for her four children.

A few years later, Sarah traveled to the Mormon colonies in Mexico with her mother and siblings and it was there that Louisa married Abraham Done. Julia grew up there and on January 21, 1903, she married Anson Bowen Call. They lived in Colonia Dublan except for the short times Julia lived in the small community of Binghampton, near Tucson, Arizona, during the most troubled times in Mexico during the ongoing revolution. She stayed with her mother, who had left the colonies during the exodus.

Julia was the mother of 12 children. At the age of 51, she went to El Paso to have surgery. She was recovering as expected, but then developed a blood clot in her lung, which took her life. She was taken back to Colonia Dublan for burial. The oldest daughter, Lorna, was away at school in the United States but later returned to care for her 7 younger brothers and sisters.

Four of Julia's and Anson's 12 children had preceded their mother in death - Omer Lehi in 1912, his twin brother Homer Eli in 1913, Ola in 1925 and Adro Thon in 1925, the victim of a tragic murder by a man who also killed Adro Thon's older half-brother, Waldo Call.

After Julia's death, her mother, Louisa Haag Abegg Done, also left her home in Binghampton and went to Colonia Dublan to help care for the children. The youngest, Eran Call was 7 years old at the time of his mother's death. He later was called as a General Authority in April of 1997 by President Gordon B. Hinckley, serving in the Second Quorum of Seventy in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Julia's example and devotion to her family is reflected in the good lives her children have led.
