G.W. 'Bill' Comegys
G.W. "Bill" Comegys, 85, formerly of Abilene, died Sunday at an Orange hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Dr. Tom Thomson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel.

Mr. Comegys was born in Merkel and was a longtime resident of Surrey Square. He retired from Exxon and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a Navy Seabee veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Thelma Leach Comegys.

Survivors include three nieces and eight great-nieces.

The family will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday.
