Kemper McKinley Meadows, 81, of Rt. 1, Stanley died Sunday morning, Sept. 20, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va. He was born Oct. 5, 1899 in the Jollett Hollow area near Elkton and was a son of the late Marcellus and Cora Meadows Meadows. Mr. Meadows was a member of the Shenandoah Baptist Church. He was a carpenter and worked for some 40 years in the Washington, D.C. area before retiring to the Alma area of Page County 10 years ago. He served in the Army overseas during World War II. His wife, the former Nina Mae Hitt, survives. Also surviving are a brother, Carl Meadows of Fredericksburg and a sister, Abbie Kratz of Baltimore, Md. A funeral service was conducted Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the Warren G. Kyger Funeral Home by the Rev. P. Hudson Nuckols. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Luray.
