Lillian Jane "Janie" Hilliards, 84, of 1178 Boston Rd. Luray, died Nov. 22, 2000 at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray.
Mrs. Hilliards was born in Stanley on May 29, 1916. She was preceded in death by her mother, Essie Mae Stroupe and her husband Avis Garfield Hilliards, whom she married on Dec. 15, 1933. She was a member of the Leaksville United Church of Christ in Luray.
Surviving Mrs. Hilliards is her son Rondel W. Hilliards, daughters Joyce Burke and Bonnie Short, all of Luray; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Dr. Eddie Walker, Rev. John Boyd and Pastor Frank Painter will officiate the funeral service at Leaksville United Church of Christ, on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000 at 1 p.m. The burial will take place at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, or at the residence anytime.
