Alta M Fey. Elvera Divert and Henry. The cause of his death was Diabetic Coma and his occupation is listed as a laborer.

His second wife was Anna Belle Young marriage: November 28, 1906 in Williams County, Ohio.

William and his brother Thomas enlisted in the Army from Williams County, Ohio. He served in the Civil War Company A 38th Regiment, Ohio Infantry. Thomas served in Company E. Organized at Defiance, Ohio, September 1, 1861, under Colonel Edwin D. Bradley and Colonel Edward H. Phelps, it went to Kentucky, and after the campaign of Mill Springs to Louisville, thence to Nashville, and that summer operated about Huntsville and Winchester, Tenn. The fall found it again at Louisville. In December it marched to Nashville and took part in the Tullahoma campaign in June 1863. After the battle of Mission Ridge it veteranized, and returned to take part in the Atlanta campaign, following from that time the fortunes of Sherman's army through to Savannah and thence northward. Mustered out July 12, 1865. Regiment lost during service 8 Officers and 132 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 2 Officers and 227 Enlisted men died by disease. Total 369. Comrade Divert was wounded the extent of injury not known. He was a member of Grand Army Republic Post, Stout Post No. 108 in Fayette, Ohio. A son William E Divert b. 1872 married Eva May Bailey in Hillsdale, Michigan 15 Aug 1906 .
