Vernon C. Blatchley, 73 years old died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Stephens at Harpursville. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Stevens, Mrs. Ida Slayton of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Charlotte Larrabee of New London, Conn., and Mrs. Mary Blakly of El Paso, Tex.; four sons, Charles K. Blatchley of Buffalo, Boyd Blatchley of Ithaca, Eri Blatchley of Oklahoma City, and Lowell Blatchley of this city and a sister, mrs. Gena Pierson of Deposit. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of his daughter. Mrs. Stevens in Harpursville, and at 2 o'clock at the Lester Union church. The Rev. Mr. Blatchley will officiate. Burial will be in Lester cemetery.

Kent, born in 1856, married in 1875, children five: Charles K., Lilliam M., Ida J., Lottie and an infant son. Parents, Alvert C. and Eliza Jane (Guernsey) Blatchley, married in 1849, children two: V. C. and Virginia. Grandparents, Daniel and Amy (Bristol) Blatchley, who settled in Windsor about 1808 or '09, children eight, six now living.
