STEPHEN BENNETT

IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO -- Stephen Daley Bennett, 62, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 13, 2010 at his home following a courageous fight with cancer.

He was born November 19, 1947, in Oakland, California to Clarence Husler Bennett and Florence Daley Bennett. The family moved to Idaho Falls where he attended Longfellow Elementary, Clair E. Gale Junior High, and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He continued his education by attending Idaho State University in Pocatello. He served in the U.S. National Guard during the Vietnam War.

He married Jorgena Hendrickson and they were later divorced; he then married Kathy Abbot and they were later divorced. He spent the last ten years with Nancy Champion, his girlfriend and caregiver.

Steve worked at Wicks Car Stereo and also at WalMart. He enjoyed fishing, music, old cars, and long drives.

The family wishes to thank Creekside Hospice for their kindness and loving care of Steve.

Brother: Jerry (Niela) Bennett, Salt Lake City, UT

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at the Lincoln Cemetery with Pastor Mark Paulson, of Calvary Chapel in Rexburg, officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team, the Idaho Honor Guard and the Patriot Guard Riders. The family will visit with friends on Saturday morning from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge) prior to leaving for services at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Creekside Hospice, 3686 Washington Parkway, Idaho Falls, ID 83404.
