Born to P.L. (Patrick Laurence) and Alice Virginia Hodgetts, the youngest of eight children. His brothers called him Clancy, and he was known as "A.B. or Abie as his initials sounded when spoken", said his brother Ben.

On 24 Aug 1918 Albert registered to serve during WWI. I have a photo of him at Fort Snelling.

Unlike his brothers who homesteaded in North Dakota when the territory opened, it was not for him and he was in Minneapolis, MN by 1920 and married Agatha Mary Shea 4 Sep 1922 in Le Sueur, MN.

They lived on Eighth St. Red Wing, Goodhue, MN by 1930 and Abie worked as a newspaper advertising manager for the Bemidji Pioneer.

He and Agatha had one daughter.

At some point in later life, Albert and Agatha and his brother Joseph Benjamin (known as Ben) all moved to Oklahoma and lived together.

Albert died at the Veteran's Hospital, Oklahoma City, OK.
