Cross Anchor, SC - Oscar Patterson, died unexpectedly at his residence, early Tuesday, April 30, 1968. Husband of Mrs. Lizzie Belle Gossett Patterson and son of the late Jim and Emma Brown Patterson. Twice married, first to Mrs. Elloree Starnes Patterson and second to Mrs. Lizzie Belle Gossett Patterson. A retired farmer and member of the Yarborough's Chapel Methodist Church and a U. S. Army World War I Veteran. Survivors included: sons, Leroy Patterson of Cross Anchor, SC, R. C. Patterson of Ashland, VA; daughters, Mrs. Maxie Abercrombie of Laurens, SC and Mrs. Buford Brown of Cross Anchor, SC; one brother, H. C. Patterson of Union, SC; sisters, Mrs. Pearl Brewington, Mrs. Hattie Lawson and Mrs. Ethel Blackwell, all of Clinton, SC, Mrs. Nora Lawson of Cross Anchor, SC; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was 73 years of age at demise and interment was in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
