KENDALLVILLE — Susan Kay Lipscomb, 52, of Kendallville died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Lipscomb was born in Warsaw on Oct. 25, 1957, to Darrel and Ilah Kay (Roberts) Grindle. She married Carl F. Burkhart who died Dec. 16, 2003. She later married Gary Lee Lipscomb on Sept. 16, 2005 at Cobblestone Golf Course near Kendallville.

She was employed with DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn in the billing department. Sue was also an active volunteer working with Parkview Noble Hospice in Kendallville.
She was a very involved member of the Grace Christian Church in Kendallville, and she loved gardening both flowers and vegetables. Sue loved baking and spending time with her grandkids and her pets.

Survivors include: her husband, Gary Lipscomb of Kendallville; her mother, IIah (Roberts) and Darrell Mort of Columbia City; her father, Darrel and Nadine Grindle of Warsaw; a daughter, Gay Anna and Nathan Mosley of Kendallville; a daughter, Nannette and Chris Chambless of Churubusco; a son, Nathan and Nessa Burkhart of Kendallville; a daughter, Elaine Allen of Fort Wayne, a daughter, Rabeca Mobley of Wolcottville; a son, Cliffton and Lacey Burkhart of Albion; a son, Mike and Sarah Lipscomb of Mongo; 20 grandchildren; a brother, Dennis and Jill Mort of Columbia City; a brother, Tony Grindle of Cromwell; a sister, Beth and Mark Didier of Fort Wayne; a sister, Tammy and Rod Hunsburger of Warsaw; and a sister, Hope Everly of Bryan, Ohio.

She was also preceded in death by her grandson, baby Mobley, who died in March of 2006.

Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Grace Christian Church, corner of Mitchell and State streets in Kendallville with Pastor Nathan Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Sweet Cemetery near Albion.

Calling will be Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, from 4-8 p.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to the church.
