Mrs. Eva Utley Downen, 87, widow of Romelia Downen and member of a prominent Posey County family died Sunday in Harrisburg, Ill. She was a sister of Lawrence J.., Walter Lee and Charles Utley, Mt. Vernon and vicinity, and Louis Utley, Princeton.
Mrs. Downen was born northeast of Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Carol Utley and Sarah Trafford Utley. Following her marriage she had resided in Southern Illinois, most of the time on a farm in the Cottonwood vicinity.
The body is at the Smith Funeral Home in Ridgway and the funeral service will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Smith Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be at Ridgway.
Surviving in addition to the brothers in Indiana, are four daughters, Mrs. Ed Moye, Omaha, Ill, Mrs. William Luther, Ridgway, Ill, Mrs. Grace Green, Grayville, Ill, and Miss Alma Downen, at home; three sons, Herman and Tim, Ridgway and Clyde, Cottonwood, and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
