Starlin I Williams, 73, of Evansville, died at 7:40 p.m. Saturday at Deaconess Hospital.

A World War II veteran, he was a retired first lieutenant in the Army and retired from Permanent Federal Savings Bank after 28 years.

He was a member of Retired Officer Association of Indiana, Bethany Christian Church, Evansville Downtown Optimists Club and Institute of Management Accountants.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Irene; daughter, Suzann Lawrence of Los Angeles, Linda Davidson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Starlene Brooks of Chillicothe, Ohio; a brother Francis of Evansville; eight grandchildren; and a niece.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany Christian Church, the Revs. Daniel Schroeder and Ted Tempel officiating, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to8 p.m. tomorrow at Browning Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

The family said friends, if they wish, may make a memorial contributions to Bethany Christian Church, St. Theresa Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
