Each of the above tracts to be kept up by its own timber not prohibiting the use of firewood from dead of lying down timbers. I also give unto my wife during her natural life one negro man named Sawny and one negro woman named Metis and one girl named Mary. I give to my wife all the household and kitchen furniture except two beds steads, beds and furniture which I give to my daughter Sarah. I also give to my wife four head of horses to be selected by herself six head of the choice cattle four choice sows twelve choice sheep one waggon and gear all the farming tools and a sufficiency for the support for one year off the farm including one hundred and twenty five lbs of sugar and seventy five lbs of coffee.

Sometime before 1809, William moved his family to Henry Co TN and by 1812 they were living in Williamson Co TN.

"In the name of God Amen.
I William Armstrong sen of the County of Williamson and state of Tennessee do make and constitute this my last Will and testament namely...
I give and bequeath to my wife Aly Ann Armstrong during her natural life The Tract of Land that I bought of Jacob Garrett including a small tract I purchased of Moses E Cator except four Acres on which my gin house and pres stand which I give to my son George.
I also give to my wife the tract of Land which I purchased of the heirs of Wm Bell. Each of the above tracts to be kept up by its own timber not prohibiting the use of firewood from dead of lying down timbers. I also give unto my wife during her natural life one negro man named Sawny and one negro woman named Metis and one girl named Mary. I give to my wife all the household and kitchen furniture except two beds steads, beds and furniture which I give to my daughter Sarah. I also give to my wife four head of horses to be selected by herself six head of the choice cattle four choice sows twelve choice sheep one waggon and gear all the farming tools and a sufficiency for the support for one year off the farm including one hundred and twenty five lbs of sugar and seventy five lbs of coffee.
I give to my daughter Sarah after her Mothers death the tract of Land purchased from Jacob Garrett including the piece bought of Moses E. Cator with the exception of that part given to my son George and also the negro girl Mary mentioned above with her increase and also one mare which she is to have present possession of which is to be her full portions of my Estate.
I give to my daughter Lucy Mcfaden and her husband William Mcfadden for a home during their natural life and then to his heirs afterwards for ever a tract of Land on which she lives Contain'g about seventy five and three fourths Acres to be his and their full portion of my Estate.
I have given to my daughter Neoma Mitchel a tract of Land on which she is living containing about eighty Acres to be her full portion of my Estate.
To the ballance of my children Nancy Stockett + Stephen Stockett her husband John Armstrong, Thos Armstrong, Lynus Armstrong, Wm Armstrong, George W Armstrong and Virginia Hardgrave + Davis Hardgrave her husband I give all my unappropriated lands my Negroes Namely Ann, Caroline, Albert, John, Nancy + Minerva with the residue of my unappropriated stock with all notes and moneys + accounts which may be on hands after paying my funeral expenses and just debts such notes as I have on my Children to be considered as that much of their part not exacting any Interest on s'd notes with the tract of Land purchased of the heirs of Bell with Sawny & Metis after my wifes death to be equally divided among the last mentioned Children. Those Children that have rec'd money for which I hold their notes that amount is to be in part a portion of my Estate.
I nominate and appoint Stephen Stockett my son in law and Wm Armstrong Jun my son my Executors to this my last will and Testament without being required to give Security for the execution of the within will given under my hand and seal this 27th day of December in the year of our Lord 1845

"The State of Tennessee Williamson County Court July Term 1846 The last Will and testament of William Armstrong Senior late of this County deceased is produced for probate and the Execution thereof duly proven thus Joseph Motheral and Francis H Davis subscribing witnesses duly being sworn say they believe such in the presence and at the request of the testator that they believe said testator was of sound and disposing mind and at the writing and publication of said will and under no undue influence ordered that said will be recorded.
And witnesses Stephen Stockett and William Armstrong the Executors nominated in said will appear in court and have been duly sworn ordered that letters of testimony be issued accordingly."
