Ervin King (1908 - 2009)

Ervin LaVon King of Caldwell, passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at the age of 101.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Caldwell LDS Fourth Ward Chapel, 3015 S. Kimball Ave., Caldwell.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd, Nampa ,and again from 1-1:45 p.m., Saturday, at the church, prior to the funeral services.

Arrangements are being provided by the Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300.

LaVon was born Sept. 16, 1908, to Culbert Levi King Jr. and Louisa May Gardner King at Coyote (Antimony), Utah. He was the third of 12 children. He married Georgia Moore in Salt Lake City, Utah on Feb.7, 1936. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in April 1962. They were married 70 years when Georgia passed away in March 2006. Together they served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1980 for 14 months, serving in the Ohio area.
LaVon was a farmer/rancher all his life. He especially loved raising cattle and horses. They had four children, Gary (Lois) King, Terry (Betty Jo) King, David (Jude) King all of Caldwell and LaFaun (Denis) Jeffs of Burley.

LaVon is survived by his children, his youngest sister Donna (George) Simmons of Kerns, Utah and a sister-in-law, Marguerite King of Firth, 18 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Logan Park personnel and the Canyon West caregivers, nurses and doctors for the loving care that was given to our father.
