"Mr. John Bowen Dead
The many friends of Mr. John Bowen, "Uncle Jack", as he was known to many, will regret to learn of his death, which occurred at his home, near Aaron, last Wednesday night. He had been in ill health for some time, and at his advanced age the strain was too great and the brittle thread of life snapped and Uncle Jack passed away. He leaves a wife and one daughter, Mrs. J. A. Scarboro, of Magnolia, Ark. The funeral and interment were at Poplar Springs Church, near his old home.
In the death of Mr. Bowen Bulloch county has lost one of her most highly respected citizens."
