On March 29, 1900, Clara was united in marriage to Fred C. Wilke in Inman, Kansas. This union was blessed with 1 son and 6 daughters. Clara was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her home and was devoted to her family. She was a good homemaker, enjoying the daily tasks around the home as well as being especially fond of sewing, quilting, and working in her yard. Her husband, Fred, preceded her in death on February 12, 1931 and a daughter, Dorothy Slabach, preceded her in death on December 10, 1967.
Clara was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church. She served her church faithfully and actively for many years.
After a brief illness, Clara passed on to eternal rest at the McPherson County Hospital on Monday October 21, 1968, at the age of 87 years.
Surviving members of her family include her son, Rudolph Wilke, Inman, Kansas; five daughters, Mrs. Vada McCarty, Independence, Kansas; Mrs. Hilda Allen, Babylon, New York; Mrs. Gladys Roberson and Miss Elnora Wilke, McPherson, Kansas; Mrs. Jeanette Geiman, Conway Kansas; Seventeen grandchildren and Twenty Two great grandchildren.
The memorial service conducted by the Reverend Robert E. Mace of the First United Presbyterian Church on Thursday October 24, 1968 at 2:30 o'clock P.M. from the
Quiring-Glidden Chapel. Music "In the Garden" and "The Lord's Prayer" sung by
Mrs. Freddie Axelson and Mrs. Lloyd Larsen at the organ. The resting place, the North Inman Cemetery.
