Grace Armstrong Ross
Grace Armstrong Ross, 89, of Quarryville passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center in Lancaster. She was the wife of the late Galen J. Ross who passed away on December 18, 2008. Grace was the daughter of the late Edward and Louella (Steel) Armstrong.
Grace was a graduate of East Drumore High School. She retired from the former RCA Corporation where she worked for 38 years. Grace was a longtime member of Quarryville Memorial Methodist Church. She was an avid bowler, recording the first 600 series by a female at the former Quarryville Recreation Center. Also, she enjoyed cooking and baking. She spearheaded the chow chow making for the Quarryville Memorial Methodist Church's annual bazaar for many years. Grace also enjoyed crocheting and doing word puzzles.
Grace is survived by one son, Galen, Jr. (Buddy) married to Dawn of Lancaster. She was known as "Ma" to her two grandchildren, Nathan Ross married to Joanna Gribble of Harrisburg and Shannon Ross married to Bryan Snellman of Philadelphia.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Elmer, Albert, Clair, Claude and Harry Armstrong.
Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from Dewald Funeral and Cremation Services, 227 West Fourth Street in Quarryville. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be private in the Quarryville Cemetery.
