Evalee S. Fulbright - by MPC ASHEVILLE — Evalee Snelson Fulbright of Givens Estates in Asheville, and formerly of Lake Junaluska, died on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at Mission St. Joseph Health Care. She was born in the Alexander community of Buncombe County to Harley and Kitty Snelson on Oct. 30, 1909. She was married to the late Guy V. Fulbright of Lake Junaluska and is survived by a son and d-inlaw, Dr. Robert Guy and Pat Fulbright of Lake Junaluska; a daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Doug Echols of Rock Hill, S.C.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Martina Carter of Givens Estates. Fulbright received her college education at Mars Hill College, Western Carolina University and Duke University. She taught in Buncombe and Haywood County schools for 33 years. She was a member of Longs Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as church treasurer, Sunday school teacher and in other leadership positions. An avid community activist, she was a member of the Home Extension Club, chair of the History Committee of the Retired School Personnel of Haywood County, member of the local Council on Aging, member and past Regent of the Hugh Rogers Chapter of the DAR, and a volunteer for the Andean Rural Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Longs Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Oscar Dowdle officiating. Interment will follow at Fulbright Family Cemetery in the Rogers Cove Community at Lake Junaluska. The family will receive friends at Mrs.Fulbright's home in the Rogers Cove Community on Thursday from 2 until 4 p.m. and from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Door Soup Kitchen, c/o of Longs Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O.
