Mrs. Virgie Alma Dean, 88, Webb City, died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in a Joplin nursing home after a lengthy illness. March 6, 1982.

Born Sept. 20, 1893, in Burlington, Texas, Mrs. Dean was a member of the First Baptist Church, Webb City.

Her husband, Earl Dean, preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Donald Dean, Diamond, and Ivan Dean, Joplin; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Simpson Funeral Home, Webb City. The Rev. Randy Gilchrist will officiate. Burial will be at Mount hope Cemetery, Webb City.

Carl Gilliam, Raymond Clayton, Gail Anderson, Larry Sidenstricker, Ron Barton and Charles Shouse will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
