(From Friday's Daily)
Harry Yost, the 5-year-old son of C. S. Yost, who lives on the Walker place, south of Wellington, was drowned Thursday afternoon in the Larimer County canal.
The canal is carrying a large body of water and it is thought the little fellow fell in while playing on the bank, as the canal runs close to the house occupied by the family.
Charley Tharp, the ditch rider, was notified and the water was turned out of the canal, but owing to the large volume of water it was some time ere it was drained.
Searching parties continued their efforts all night, and this morning woven wire was stretched across the canal at different places, but no trace of the body had yet been discovered at a late hour this afternoon.
