B.A. Stevens, 64, resident of the Opelika area for the past forty years, died near his home on Murchison Route 1 at 4:00 o'clock Monday evening. Mr. Stevens had been out to feed his hogs when he suffered an attack and died almost instantly.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens. Burial was at Red Hill cemetery.
Deceased is survived by three sons and three daughters, his wife having died several years ago. Survivors include J.J., A.V. and L.E. Stevens of Murchison, Route 1 and Mrs. Elnora Volentine of Louisiana, Mrs. Lorene Gray of Murchison Route 1 and Mrs. Lula Barnett, Murchison Route 1; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Spry of Breckenridge, Texas and Mrs. Kate Sanders of Plainview, Texas; two brothers, Clyde Stevens of Breckenridge and J.L. Stevens of Oberlin, Texas.
Mr. Stevens was born in Louisiana and came to Texas about forty years ago. Later he moved back to that state for a short period but returned to Henderson county about twenty years ago and resided here up until his death.
