Lester V. Ray, 78, of 645 Washington St., Wabash, IN died Monday, April 20, 1998 at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Nov. 2, 1919 at Wabash, IN to Frederick and Catherine Iva (Crousore) Ray, both deceased.

He was a member of Wabash Moose, Eagles, American Legion, and VFW. He was a World War II Army Veteran, serving in the Normandy Invasion. He retired in 1981 from Vice Brothers Foundry in Wabash.

He is survived by two sisters - Marian Dewart of Wabash and Virginia (Maxine) Sporleder of Schiller Park, IL. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel in Wabash today (Wednesday) from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Main St. Chapel Thursday, April 23, 1998 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Terry Canfield officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery of Wabash. Preferred memorials may be made to the Wabash County Cancer Society.
