She was born May 7, 1924, in Hancock, NY, the daughter of Gould and Vera Hoagland Orchard.
She was a homemaker, quilter, mother and grandmother. She lived at Butterfield Trail Village and volunteered at the Fayetteville Public Library. She loved to read and travel and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond George Shipman, and a daughter, Susan Johnson.
Survivors include two daughters, Lise Lipko of Prairie Grove and Martha Taylor and husband, Clay, of Little Rock, AR, her brother, Gould Orchard, of Graham, Washington, and grand-children Sam Taylor and his wife, Janis, Jay Taylor, and Amanda Lipko.
Memorial services were held in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Interment was at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
