Mrs. Matilda Krise who was in her 97th year passes away at the home of son, Thomas H. Krise. Mrs. Matilda (Trexler) Krise, who was 96 years of age on Jan. 29, this year, died at 4 o'clock this morning at the home of a son, Thomas H. Krise of 1629 Twenty-first avenue. The aged woman had been in failing health for some time, suffering from the ailments incident to her advanced years, but had been able to be about her home until yesterday. She was born on Jan. 29, 1841, at Chest Springs, and spent the greater part of her life in Cambria county, moving to Altoona in 1922. Her husband, Thomas Krise, whom she married on Aug. 21, 1864, at St. Augustine, died in 1921. He was a veteran of the Civil war. Mrs. Krise was the mother of eleven children, seven of whom are living, Thomas H. Krise, with whom she resided, Silas P. Krise of the Buckhorn, Benjamin B. Krise of Cresson, Mrs. Mary Grove of Ashville, Mrs. O.P. Conrad of Wilmore, Mrs. Catherine McDermott of Greensburg and Mrs. Rose Fornwalt of the city. In addition there are sixty-three grandchildren, seventy-six great grandchildren and one brother, Frank Trexler of Cresson. Mrs. Krise was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament and the Altar society. The body may be viewed at the son's home.

KRISE - Funeral services for Mrs. Matilda (Trexler) Krise of 1629 21st Ave. will be held at Cathedral of Blessed Sacrament with requiem high mass on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. Interment following in St. Augustine cemetery.
