Laura Ruby (Hooks) Freeman, 85 of Kittanning RD 8, died Monday, February 19, 2001 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, East Franklin Township. She was born January 1, 1916 in Bridgeburg to Hugh A. and Laura E. (Whited) Hooks. She was Protestant. She was a former member of the Bridgeburg Woman’s Club. Survivors include two sons, Robert Freeman and Ronald Freeman, both of Kittanning RD 8; three grandchildren, Debbie Sanders, Randy Freeman and Michael Freeman; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lester Hooks and Jack Hooks, both of Kittanning. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clark “Mutt” Freeman, who died in 1994; one brother, Harold Hooks; into infant sisters. FREEMAN – Friends of Laura Ruby (Hooks) Freeman, 85 of Kittanning RD 8, who died February 19, 2001, will be received from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at the Snyder – Crissman Funeral Home Inc., 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, where funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday with the Rev. Larry Messick, pastor of the Woodward Avenue Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates Inc., Worthington RD 1. Arrangements by Snyder–Crissman.
