THURS. RITES FOR WOODBURN MAN
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 8, for Ernest Wilbert Weaklend, 56, who died Monday, January 5, in Woodburn. The Rev. John Dale will conduct the 1:30 p.m. funeral from the Webster Funeral Home with interment to be in the Last Chance Cemetery.
Ernest Wilbert Weaklend was born in Lucas County on February 23, 1913, son of Ernest Weaklend and Faye Reese Weaklend. He attended schools in Lucas and Clarke counties. He married Ruth Cottingham in Minnesota in 1946 and four children were born to this union.
He farmed in Lucas and Clarke counties. During the past 10 years he lived in Woodburn and operated the Purina Feed Company. He was a member of the Woodburn Masonic Lodge. He was affiliated with the Christian Church at Woodburn.
He is survived by a son, David Weaklend of Des Moines; three daughters, Marie Wright of Springfield, Missouri, Mrs. Sue Watson of Marion and Mrs. Vicki Potter of Creston; mother, Mrs. Faye Weaklend of Woodburn; three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Merle Roston of Nampa, Idaho, Mrs. Alene Paugh of Allerton and Mrs. Coleene Hesten of Woodburn; and nine grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his father; wife, Ruth and one daughter in infancy.
