Stella A. O'Dell 100 years formerly of Winfield St., and Dayspring Apts. died Fri, Nov 6, 2009 at Founders Pavilion with her loving family by her side.
She was born Oct 26, 1909 in Krakow, Poland the daughter of the late Louis and Victoria Godak Conjorio.
As a child the family traveled to the US settling in Urbana, NY and later relocating to the Corning Area. She received her education in the Bath School System.
Stella and Deo E. O'Dell were married Mar 29, 1930 in Bath, NY. Deo predeceased her Sep 21, 1957.
During WWII Stella was employed at Corning Glass Works. She was a homemaker completely devoted to her family, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading and expressing her talent with needle pointing. Stella was a very faithful woman and would do anything for others. She was a member of All Saints Parish, attending St. Patrick's and St. Mary's Churches. Her love and kindness will truly be missed by her family and many friends.
Surviving her son, Richard (Carolyn) O'Dell of Corning, NY; sister-in-law, Lola O'Dell of Corning, NY; grandchildren, Chris (Neal) Bianco, Anita (John) Ferriera, Robert O'Dell, Timothy (Jodi) Hatch; granddaughter-in-law, Amy O'Dell; g-grandchildren, Camryn and Megan O'Dell, Danielle and Kimberly O'Dell, John Ferriera III, Jennifer Ferriera, Robert O'Dell, Briana Russo; g-g-grandchildren, Logan, Alexander and Tayden; sister, Wanda Conjorio of Elmira, NY; also several nieces and nephews.
Predeceasing her were, her son, Robert O'Dell, daughter, Norma J. Philip, grandson, Richard "Rick" O'Dell, sisters, Louise Ryal, Jean Garrison and Josephine Pytell.
A Memorial Service with Committal Prayers will be held Wed, Nov 11, 2009 at 11:30 am St. Mary's Church, Corning, NY. Interment will be in the family plot at St Mary's Cemetery, Corning, NY.
