Bryan Henry River evidently joined Wells Fargo in 1882, as he received a 33 year service pin in 1915. By the 1890s he was a clerk in the cashier's department and the auditing department in San Francisco. He became Assistant Treasurer of the Company on 14 Sep 1909, and Treasurer on 13 July 1911, and was at the headquarters in New York. Bryan Henry River and wife Ada Bertha Chandler. Bryan was Treasurer of Wells Fargo 1911-1915. He and Ada lived in Manhattan and traveled extensively. Ada was born in Bennington, Vermont, but moved to Hayward, California, in 1877 with her father Lewis B. Chandler. Bryan was raised in Hayward and in 1902 the two were wed in San Francisco. Bryan had no children. Ada had one child, Ethelberta Oakes,by an earlier marriage in Hayward.
