The following obituary appeared in The Times of Trenton, Tues., 23 Feb. 2010:

HOPEWELL - Christine Marie Gianacaci, 22, of Hopewell, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Born in Princeton, she was a lifelong Hopewell resident.

Christine and 11 other students and two professors had traveled to Haiti during her J-Term with the Journey of Hope Food for the Poor, representing Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL. When the earthquake hit, she was staying in the Hotel Montana, which was destroyed.

Christine graduated from the Lewis School of Princeton and was a junior at Lynn University majoring in broadcast communications. She spent the past two summers interning for the WPST radio station in Princeton.

Christine was a member of the Hopewell Presbyterian Church, Hopewell Ladies Auxiliary American Legion and Springdale Golf Club. At Lynn University, she was active in the American Cancer Association's Relay for Life, Food for the Poor and the Knights Activities Club.

She was a generous, caring girl who loved to help others. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a beautiful singing voice, loved music, cooking and traveling with her family. Christine had a beautiful smile that would brighten up everyone that she came in contact with. She loved golf, Lynn University, and spending time with her girlfriends, but loved being with her family most of all.

Granddaughter of the late Constant and Mary Gianacaci, she is survived by her parents, John and Jean (Hall) Gianacaci; her brother and sister-in-law, John P. and Jennifer Willis; grandparents, James and Marie Hall; uncle, Richard Hall; aunt and uncle, Gabrielle and William Protinick; cousins Ashley and Brent Hall, Melissa and William Protinick, and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, many, many friends and most importantly, her beloved dog, Scooter.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at St. Paul's Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at St. Paul's Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Christine's Hope for Kids Foundation, c/o Bank Financial Services Group, 731 Alexander Road, Suite 203, Princeton, NJ 08540.
