Merub was the daughter of Eva Platt and William Thorpe and the granddaughter of Dr. Wm. E. Platt and Isabelle Romney Platt. Merub grew up in Safford Az. and graduated from High School there. She didn't like her name as the children teased her. She picked "Pat"for her new name. It was short and simple and didn't give much room for teasing.
Her first husband was Eldon Dallas. He went to fight in World War 2 and while he was gone Pat became active in the LDS church and was a faithful member the rest of her life. When Eldon returned from the war they lived in Safford together
many years then got a divorce.She never had any children.
She met Wm. Curtis Long while working as bookkeeper in his furniture store.He was widower and she was alone so they got married. They were happy for several years.
Curtis is buried beside her in the Thatcher Cemetary
