He was born in Como, MS and came to Shelby County from Como 13 years ago. He lived at the Highway 61 South address and was a member of the Westwood Lions Club and was a Mason.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Carter; his mother, Mrs. R.L. Carter of Courtland, MS; a brother, R.L. Carter Jr. of Como and three sisters, Mrs. Clyde Best of Courtland, MS, Mrs. Lewis Bratton of 1063 North Perkins Road and Mrs. Raiford Fancher of Senatobia, MS.
