Mrs. Annie Stackhouse
DILLON [Dillon Co.]—Funeral services for Mrs. Anne [sic] Lee Alford Stackhouse, 71, wife of Marvin M. Stackhouse of Dillon, will be held at the residence on Main Street this afternoon at 3:30.... Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Cecil Wiggins, Bennie Wiggins, Jewel McLaurin, Sam Ervin, Henry Bethea, Laval Osteen and R.A. Braddy.
A daughter of the late B.A. [Benjamin Ansel] and Mary Campbell Alford, she was born in Robeson county, N.C., and in 1904 married Mr. Stackhouse and lived the balance of her life in Dillon, where Mr. Stackhouse has been active in construction work, and a member of city council for the past 25 years. Mrs. Stackhouse was a member of the Methodist Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Herbert M. Stackhouse of Dillon, the Reverend William C. Stackhouse of Greeleyville; Glenn A. Stackhouse of San Francisco, Cal.; two daughters, Miss Mary E. Stackhouse of Dillon and Mrs. Laurie M. Ervin of Dillon; two brothers, J.C. [James Cousar] and W.B. [William Benjamin] Alford, both of Dillon; two sisters, Mrs. W.M. McClean [Viola] of Dillon, Mrs. S.P. Williams [probably Sophie Wiggins listed in the obituaries of her siblings] of Columbia."
