Miss Gussie J. Ring of Ocilla died July 31, 1999 at Palemon Gaskins Nursing Home in Ocilla. She was 86. Miss Ring was born February 7, 1913, in Irwin County, the daughter of John Ring and Julia Chaney Ring. She was a member of Lax Holiness Baptist Church of Irwin County. A homemaker, Miss Ring had lived in the community all of her life.
Survivors include one sister, Arssie Boutwell of Ocilla and one brother, Charles Ring of Cordele. Services were held at Lax Holiness Baptist Church and interment was held at Lax Cemetery. Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
