My father, Chet, served proudly in the USMC for twenty years. He served during WWII and saw action in the South Pacific and again in the Korean War.

After his honorable discharge in 1956 he became employed as a Forest Ranger stationed at the Olympic National Park in the State of Washington.

Chet was married three times: 1st wife Gladys Mae Westlund, 2nd Wife Haline Agatha Lesnick, 3rd wife Barbara Hammond Stevens.

In 1964 he and his 3rd wife Barabara Stevens Churchill were traveling towards Neah Bay when a car loaded with five people came around a curve going too fast and hit Chet and Barbara head on. Chet suffered until his death from the results of his injuries sustained in this accident.

His grandson, Daniel P. Hogan, spread his ashes in the Olympic Mountains in Washington.
