Anderson Daniel Arrowood was the son of William Joseph Arrowood and Elizabeth Anderson.

Anderson Daniel Arrowood married Dicey Carson on March 2, 1848 in North Carolina. They had three daughters in North Carolina before moving to Texas.

The family moved to Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas in the spring of 1854. Anderson was killed in a fight in Gatesville in 1873, leaving his wife Dicey with eight children under the age of eighteen, the youngest under two years old.

Anderson D. Arrowood was buried in the pasture near their home and was the first of thirteen family members to be buried there, with Dicey Carson-Arrowood being the last in 1908. This cemetery has a fence around it and is listed in the Family Cemetery Record of Coryell County.

Anderson D. Arrowood was the father of Louisa Helen Arrowood-Black, Elizabeth Arrowood-Carr, Sarch Ann Arrowood-Barr, Samuel Houston Arrowood, Martha Ann Arrowood-Couch, Anderson Dee Arrowood, William D. Arrowood, Josephine Arrowood-Powell, Albertine Arrowood, twin sons who died as infants in 1869, and Jesse Wilborn Arrowood.
