A native of Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late Emory Wesley and Susan Lelia Moore Dye and wife of 53 years to the late Emory Bussey Coile. Mrs. Coile taught school at Nowell's Academy in Oglethorpe County and was a 1932 graduate of Athens Business College. She and her husband operated General Stores in Oglethorpe and Clarke County and she was a successful district manager with World Book Encyclopedia. She was a member of East Athens Baptist Church where she was secretary for 16 years and founded, composed and named the weekly church newsletter 'The Messenger', which is still active today. For 25 years she was the Sunday School Teacher for the Marion Coile Sunday School Class at Winterville Baptist Church. She served for 8 years as the first woman Treasurer of Sarepta Baptist Association. She was appointed as a colonel in the Georgia Militia by Governor Zell Miller, was a member of the DAR, Daughters of War of 1812, UDC and a charter member of the Athens Muscular Dystrophy Chapter. She was secretary of the Winterville Silver Hair Club for 21 years, was very instrumental in conversion and development of the old Winterville Railroad Depot into a popular community center and served 14 years on the City of Winterville Council and as mayor pro tem. In June 29, 1966, she and her husband wrote a letter to the editor of the then, Athens Daily News, advocating the Watson Mill Bridge as a possible state park. She was an amateur poet and writer.
