Lew J. Betty and Delia A. Mangel were married September 28, 1912 at Hastings, NE.
They made Carleton, NE. their home and raised their family of four boys and one girl there. Enil (1914); Donald (1916); Virgil (1925); Boneta(1926). Allen was born in 1928 and was the only one to make the Carleton area his home.
Lew operated a dray business for a number of years before making railroad instruction his career. Lew and Delia frequently made their home a temporary home for a number of families for either side of their family.
After Allen graduated from high school, Delia followed Lew where ever his construction work took him. He retired in 1953 and they returned to their Carleton home to enjoy retirement. Lew passed away in 1959 and Delia in 1975.
