Last Member of a Large and Prominent Family Passed Away early Wednesday Morning.

Mrs. Nancy Jane Ingram, widow of the late Benjamin Ingram, died at her beautiful home, "The Mountain" in Lilesville township, at 2:30 o'clock yesterday morning. Mrs. Ingram's health had not been good for a year or more, but not until about eight or ten weeks ago did she take her bed. After that time she gradually grew weaker and weaker until the end, when she fell on sleep as gently and peacefully as an infant.

Mrs. Ingram was born Nancy Jane Bennett. Feb. 5th 1823. She was the youngest child of William Bennett, who lived three miles east of Wadesboro on the Lilesville road. This place afterwards belonged to her brother, the late Risden Bennett. Mrs Ingram's grandfather, who was chaplain of Col. Thomas Wade's regiment in The Revolutionary War, was also named William. Wadesboro was named for Col. Wade.

About 1843 Mrs. Ingram married Benjamin Ingram, who died some 20 years ago. To them were born four children. Of these only two reached maturity; Thomas J. Ingram & Charles N. Ingram, both of whom died several years ago, leaving her five grandchildren.

Mrs. Ingram was not only the youngest of her parents' twelve children, but she was also the surviving member of the family. She leaves a very large connection, many of the most prominent families of the county being closely related to her. Mrs. Ingram was an intellectual woman and retained her faculties unimpaired until her last illness. She read. the papers with great pleasure and was deeply interested in all that went on around her. She was a kind neighbor and ostentatiously charitable. She never let her left hand know what her right was doing when she practiced charity.

The interment was at Savannah church, near her late home, this morning at 11 o'clock.
