Louise A. Schaffner, 91, of 433 Woodrow Ave., died this morning at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Louisville, a retired secretary for the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union Office in New Albany and past secretary for the Indiana Association for the Blind. She was a member of Floyd County Historical Society, the Professional Women's Business Club, the Southern Indiana Mental Health Association, AARP, and the Altar Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany. Survivors include a son, Louis E. Schaffner Sr. of New Albany; a daughter, Margie Rothrock of Largo, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Kraft Funeral Home from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
