Services for Irene E. Bankston, 88, of Temple will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Western Hills Church of Christ with James LeFan officiating.
Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park.
She died Wednesday, Jan. 14, in a Temple nursing home.
She was born in Hamilton to Jessie Elmer Blakley and Emaline Elizabeth Porterfield Blakley.
She was a licensed vocational nurse at Scott and White Memorial Hospital 16 years. She was a member of ABWA, licensed vocational nurses organization, Pioneers at Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Golden Agers of Western Hills Church of Christ.
She was a member of Western Hills Church of Christ and had lived in the community since 1953.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Zack Bankston on Jan. 25, 2001.
Survivors are two daughters, Linda Gene Mahan of Moody and Betty Jo Anderson of Lubbock; three brothers, Billy D. Blakley of Conroe, James Milton Blakley of Hico and Tommy Joe Blakley of Alabama; one sister, Ada Mae Oglesby of Kingsland; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Sheffield Funeral Home.
