Mrs. Rachel A. Rockwell, 70, 722 W. Virginia Ave., died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Howard Community Hospital, following a week's illness.

Born in Hamilton County on April 29, 1895, she was the daughter of Henry and Mary Ann (Coates) McGill. She had lived in Kokomo since 1955, moving here from Tipton.

Mrs. Rockwell was a member of South Main Street Church of Christ and a home demonstration club.

She was first married to Frank Bringle, who died in 1952. In September , 1953 she was married to Harry B. Rockwell, who survives with one son, Lester R.Bringle, Tipton; four brothers; Chelsey McGill, Memphis, Tenn., Ben McGill, Tipton, Earl McGill, Cicero and Delton McGill, Frankfort.

Also surviving are three step-daughters: Mrs. Elizabeth Lee, Indianapolis, Mrs. Harriet Myers, Battle Creek, Mich., and Mrs. Rachel Apperson, Oregon City, Ore.; one stepson, Raymond Rockwell, Atlanta; three grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Fenn Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Washburn in charge. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
