Boyd A. "Butch" Knepp

PORT TREVORTON -


Boyd A. "Butch" Knepp, 57, of Main Street, passed away on 8:36 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, in the emergency room at the Sunbury Community Hospital.

He was born Sept. 10, 1952, in Sunbury, a son of the late William H. and Laura M. (Earnest) Knepp.

Butch served in the Army during the Vietnam era.

He was employed as a truck driver until disability forced his retirement.

He was a member of the North American Hunting and Fishing Clubs and the National Rifle Assoc.


Butch enjoyed woodworking and was knowledgeable in many areas and was constantly learning.


He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William H. II and Marcia Knepp, of Middleburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Dawn M. and Rodney Kerstetter, of Milton; 11 grandchildren, Chaz Francis, Chasity, Branndon, Chance, Kasey and Jordan Kerstetter, Isaiah Knepp, Zachary, Trinity, and Bryce Hackenburg, and Emily Rose Stasick; one son-in-law, Paul Hackenburg, of Middleburg; eight siblings and their spouses, Judy and Corbin Whitt, Teresa and Larry Rodas, and John and Lynn Knepp, all of Clyde, N.Y., Linda and Hiram Frank, Shirley and Albert Marstiener, and Anna Haeffner, all of Wolcott, N.Y., Ellen Masser of Rochester, N.Y., and Patrick and Sherry Knepp, of Newark, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by one daughter, Candy Hackenburg on May 26, 2006, and three brothers, William, Clifford and Richard Knepp.

Friends and family will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hummel Funeral Home, Middleburg, where the funeral will follow at 1.


Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown.
