LAST RITES HELD HERE FOR GEORGE A. ROGERS
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. last Friday in the Conger Funeral Home chapel here for George A. Rogers, 70, who died about 1:45 a.m. last Thursday, in his home of a self-inflicted bullet wound.
The services were conducted by the Rev. B E Bond, pastor of the First Methodist Church, of which Rogers was a member. Burial was in the Arcadia cemetery.
Rogers was a retired guard at the Louisiana Ordinance Plant. He had suffered a stroke about two weeks ago. He was born September 30, 1884 in Arcadia.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Olive O. Rogers of the home; two sons, Willis and Louie Rogers, both of Monroe; four grandchildren; and four sisters.
The sisters are Mrs. Alf Sims of Arcadia, Mrs. Norman Thomas of Ruston, and Mrs. L N Napper and Mrs. H L Henry, both of Simsboro.
