Funeral Set Today For G.M. Johnson
Funeral services for George Manning Johnson, retired bottling company owner, will be held in Memorial chapel at 4 p.m. today. The Rev. Fred B. Hooks will officiate and interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery.
Johnson, a native of Montgomery county died suddenly at his residence, 1709 Napier Avenue Friday afternoon. He was a pioneer in the bottling industry, owning the Cheri-Cola Bottling plants in Knoxville, Tn and Louisville, Ky. He was a graduate of a pharmaceutical school in Atlanta and had made his home in Macon for several years, coming here from Atlanta.
Surviving are his wife Mrs. Annie Lou Johnson, daughter-in-law, Mrs. A.W. Johnson; daughter Mrs. Helen Huthnance, and two grandchildren, Frank and Anne Huthnance, all of Macon.
