Walter A. "Walt" Barton
Walter A. "Walt" Barton, 83, 322 N. Seventh St., died Wednesday morning (Nov. 27, 1985) in Memorial Hospital. He was a retired truck driver for Ranney-Davis Mercantile Co.

He was born March 5, 1902 in Arkansas City to John L. and Orha Burley Barton. He was reared in Arkansas City and attended school here.

He married Ida Criss Sept. 8, 1937 in Newkirk, Okla. They made their home in Arkansas City.

He was a member of the Central Christian church.

He is survived by his wife, of the home, two sons, Chester, 314 N. Fourth St., Michael, Braman, Okla., two daughters, Diane Wood, Solomon, Kan., Charlotte White, 731 S. Fourth St., one sister, Dorothy Bowman, Arkansas City, and a brother, Greg, Orange, Texas; 19 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Rindt-Erdman-Oldroyd Funeral Home with the Rev. Leo Barr and Rev. Steve Harden officiating.

Interment will be in Riverview cemetery with Rindt-Erdman-Oldroyd Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
