A native of Des Moines, Iowa, she was the wife of Walter H. Gardner, who survives, and the daughter of Floyd Burgess and Vera Flint Burgess, both deceased. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington. She enjoyed needlework and reading and helped organize the local chapter of the P.E.O.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include a son, Edgar Gardner and wife, Linda, of New York; two daughters, Nancy Miller and husband, Bill, of Arkansas and Elizabeth and Melissa Gardner of California; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Twin Lakes Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 2 p.m.
