He was united in marriage to Ida Marie Habben on October 18, 1921, in Hildreth. To this union were born one son and three daughters. In 1922, he brought his bride to Colorado and made their home west of Eads. He engaged in farming, mechanical jobs and spent 16 years building roads in the county.
In 1944 he invented a water well drilling machine and for four years drilled wells in the Eads area. He moved to Eads in 1948. In 1957, health began to fail, and the remainder of his life was spent helping his wife operate the Commercial Hotel in Eads.
Mr. Weber passed away at Weisbrod Memorial County Hospital in Eads, Colo on December 30th. Funeral services were held on December 31st at Duggan-Dalsen funeral chapel in Lamar, Colo. The Rev. Warren Shave of Grace Lutheran Church, Lamar, officiated the service. Brent Ritter of Eads sang two selections, "Have Thine Own Way Lord" and "An Evening Prayer". He was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. R. E. Anderson of Eads.
Dick was a devoted husband, loving father and was never to busy to help a friend along the way. He is greatly missed by his family and friends.
