Dick was born November 18, 1930, in Glenford, Ohio, the son of the late Robert A. and Goldie Gordon.
He was a graduate of Glenford High School. He served in the Marines in the Korean Conflict where he was an airplane mechanic. Dick was founder and owner of Dick's Sales and Service in Somerset, Ohio for close to 40 years. He was an avid horseman, and loved fishing and hunting. He has received many awards for his hunting dogs and horsemanship.
Surviving are five sons and one daughter, Dane R. (Holly) Gordon, of Junction City, Ohio, Janice Graham of Junction City, Ohio, David P. (Vicki) Gordon of Corona, California, Jeffery (Lisa) Gordon of Lima, Ohio, Matthew D. (Cyndi) Gordon, of Sykesville, Maryland and Stoney J. Gordon of New Lexington, Ohio: 15 grandchildren: 11 great-grandchildren: and special friends Anna Maxson and Wilma Gordon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Eugene Gordon and Harold Ray Gordon.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset, Ohio where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2010. with Pastor Joe Leighton officiating. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery.
