The deceased was born at Mansfield, Ohio, December 4th, 1824. He was married October 23rd, 1851, to Miss Mary Brobeck of Steubenville, Ohio. To this union were born thirteen children - seven boys and six girls - all now living with the exception of two boys. He joined the Presbyterian church in his early days and has been a faithful Christian and member since then being an elder for a number of years, also superintendent of Sunday school at his former home in Ohio. The deceased came to Iowa April 26th, 1883, with his family, locating on a farm south of Keota where they resided a number of years. He then retired from the farm and moved to Keota where he has resided since that time.
Funeral services were held at the late residence this morning at 10:30, in charge of Rev. John C. Giffen. Burial in the Keota Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
