Jessie E. Barksdale Crow, 89, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Jessie E. Barksdale Crow was born in Bethesda Dec. 24, 1920, to J.C. and Rena Barksdale. She loved participating in senior citizen activities in the area before moving to the West Side Campus of Care in 2006. While at the center, she continued to enjoy the activities provided there.
She especially loved family gatherings and was an avid Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan. She was a member of Everman United Methodist Church. She was a longtime resident of Everman.
The family extends its appreciation to West Side Campus of Care and to Odyssey Hospice staff for their special care.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 46 years, Horace W. Crow, in 1984; and all 11 of her brothers and sisters.
Survivors: Children, Geneva Oakes and husband, Maurice, of Weatherford, Gloria Kirby and husband, Bobby, of Euless, Alice Cord and husband, Sherwin, of Fort Worth and Horace W. Crow and wife, Lana, of Terrell; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many other treasured relatives and friends.
